In June 2026, The Transmitter became a host site for the American Association for the Advancement of Science’s annual Mass Media Fellowship. 

The 10-week program places science, engineering and mathematics students at media organizations across the United States from June to August. Fellows use their academic training as they research, write and report today’s headlines, sharpening their ability to communicate complex scientific issues to the public.
