Devin Effinger is a postdoctoral researcher in the psychiatry department at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. His research examines the neurobiology of psychedelics, stress circuitry and motivated behavior. He leads projects ranging from the effects of stress and psychedelics on dopaminergic systems to the cardiovascular risks associated with microdosing LSD.
After earning a B.S. in psychology at the University of Colorado Denver, Effinger completed a two-year fellowship at the U.S. National Institute on Drug Abuse. He then earned his Ph.D. in pharmacology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he characterized the effects of the psychedelic psilocin on stress circuitry and behavioral responding using in-vivo preclinical models.
