Edward Boyden

Edward Boyden is Y. Eva Tan Professor in Neurotechnology at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s McGovern Institute for Brain Research and the Yang Tan Collective, and an investigator at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute.

He earned a B.S. in physics and a B.S. in electrical engineering and computer sciences, as well as an M.Eng., at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He completed his Ph.D. studies as a fellow in the neurosciences program at Stanford University. Boyden joined MIT as an assistant professor in 2007 and is now a professor in the departments of Brain and Cognitive Sciences, Media Arts and Sciences, and Biological Engineering.
