Marta Costa is a senior research associate in the Drosophila Connectomics Group at the University of Cambridge. The group, led by Gregory Jefferis, generates, analyzes and compares fly connectomes, high-resolution maps of the nervous system.
After completing an undergraduate degree in biology at the University of Lisbon, Costa earned an M.Sc. in neuroscience at University College London and a Ph.D. at the University of Cambridge, working with Pat Simpson. Before joining the Drosophila Connectomics Group, she worked at FlyBase and Virtual Fly Brain for five years.
