公益財団法人ながひさ科学振興財団 研究奨励金 | Nagahisa Science Promotion Foundation Research Grant (life sciences | Japan)

Nagahisa Science Promotion Foundation

The Nagahisa Science Promotion Foundation Research Grant supports early-career researchers in the life sciences so that they can devote themselves fully to research in Japan. Proposals must be in basic biology and fundamental life sciences, particularly studies that explore the underlying principles governing biological phenomena.

The Foundation also seeks to ease the financial instability faced by researchers who do not hold full-time positions, enabling them to continue their work. In addition, it offers support to researchers engaged in important projects who are experiencing difficulty securing public research funding. Applications are open to early-career researchers in unstable positions (e.g., postdocs, non-tenured) conducting research within an affiliated laboratory/institution in Japan.

The funding provides 4 million JPY for 2 years. Up to 5 projects will be awarded.

Applications are open between April 1, 2026, and April 20, 2026.
