The Medel för alkoholforskning avseende juniora forskningsmedel managed by the Centralförbundet för alkohol- och narkotikaupplysning, CAN, and funded by Systembolagets Alkoholforskningsråd, supports research conducted in Sweden. The award is aimed at researchers who are at the beginning of their academic career, and the thesis should not be older than three years. Proposals are open for:
- Research into what prevents alcohol damage, abuse and dependence and increases knowledge about care and treatment methods.
- Research on the effects of policy/law/market changes on alcohol consumption and drinking patterns.
- Research on the health, social and economic effects of alcohol consumption and drinking patterns at both individual, group and societal levels.
The funding provides between 200,000 and 800,000 SEK per year for 2 years.
Applications open on May 15, 2026, and close on September 15, 2026.
