The Operating Grant: Data Analysis Using Existing CDN Databases and Cohorts (2026), funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), supports This call supports projects that use data from existing Canadian-based cohorts, databases, cohort catalogues, and data platforms, to advance knowledge in human development, child and/or youth health with the goal to improve patient, population, and system outcomes.

The applicant must be:

  • an Early Career Researcher (ECR) or a Mid-Career Researcher (MCR) affiliated with a Canadian postsecondary institution and/or its affiliated institutions (including hospitals, research institutes and other non-profit organizations with a mandate for health research and/or knowledge translation). OR
  • an individual affiliated with an Indigenous non-governmental organization in Canada with a research and/or knowledge translation mandate. OR
  • an Indigenous non-governmental organization in Canada with a research or knowledge translation mandate.

Individual grants provide up to 75,000 CAD for 1 year.

The registration deadline is September 2, 2026. Application deadline for full proposals is September 22, 2026.
