The Paul B. Beeson Emerging Leaders Career Development Award in Aging (K76) is funded by the National Institute on Aging (NIA), part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the American Federation for Aging Research (AFAR), and the John A. Hartford Foundation. The Award supports early-stage physicians and other health professional investigators who are committed to aging and/or aging-related diseases. The goal is to advance their research and leadership skills in their specialty and in the broader field of aging and geriatrics research.
Applicants must be based at research institutions in the USA and must be US citizens or permanent residents.
The award provides up to $225,000 in direct costs per year for up to 5 years. It is anticipated that seven to ten awards will be granted.
