About: The British Neuroscience Association (BNA) Scholars Programme was launched following a BNA-led consultation of the U.K. neuroscience community in response to the systemic issues highlighted by the Black Lives Matter movement. The program supports talented students and early-career researchers from underrepresented groups to thrive in neuroscience, by providing structured mentoring from experienced neuroscientists who understand the challenges and opportunities in the field; access to professional development and networking opportunities (working in partnership with leading organizations across academic, clinical, commercial and charitable neuroscience sectors); and a supportive community where scholars can thrive, connect and grow.
Seven new BNA Scholars are selected each spring to join the program and remain in it for three years. Scholars are talented and self-driven young neuroscientists from backgrounds underrepresented in neuroscience’s senior career stages.
