The Japan Neuroscience Society (JNS)

The Joseph Altman Award in Developmental Neuroscience from The Japan Neuroscience Society (JNS) supports research in developmental neuroscience at the tissue and cellular levels in Japan. The scope of the Award is not limited to phenomena during fetal or developmental stages; it also encompasses adult neurogenesis and its biological significance, as well as the changes resulting from aging and diseases. Applied studies are not included within the scope of the Award.

Applications are open to researchers who have received their doctorate or equivalent academic degree within 20 years. The Japan Neuroscience Society membership is not required. The Award provides 10,000 USD. The Award recipient will be recognized at the meeting of the Japan Neuroscience Society held July 30th – August 2th, 2026.
