The 2026 Neurogenomics Research Award from the Australasian Neuroscience Society and Illumina aims to support researchers to push the boundaries of neuroscience using cutting-edge multi-omics technologies. To help seed future impactful research, the award enables sequencing for a pilot project, giving a researcher the opportunity to generate foundational data that can drive transformative discoveries. Applicants must be academic researchers who are ANS members.
The award recipient receives multiomics analysis of up to 24 samples (or up to 200,000 cells in total), using at least two -omic modalities, with a total value up to $80,000 AUD. The multiomics analysis is completed by experienced scientists at Illumina’s Innovation Collective laboratory in Melbourne. Analysis includes library preparation and sequencing, and array processing. In addition, the winner will have the opportunity to use Illumina’s data analysis software to explore and interpret their results.
