The Early Career Grants from the Alzheimer Forschung Initiative eV (AFI) support young scientists working on dementias in Germany. Applications are open to projects that significantly advance the understanding of Alzheimer’s disease or related dementias, specifically in the areas of basic research, diagnostics, prevention, and therapy. Applicants must have received a PhD or MD within 6 years and be affiliated with a German public university or research institution.
The grant provides up to 60,000 EUR over 2 years.
Submissions of Letters of Intent open on January 2, 2026, and are due January 30, 2026.
