Federation of Associations in Behavioral & Brain Sciences (FABBS)

The FABBS IDEA Awards are presented by the Federation of Associations in Behavioral & Brain Sciences (FABBS) to recognize and honor distinguished research, professional practice, and activities, such as mentorship, that advance Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEA) principles in the behavioral and brain sciences.

Applications are open to scholars from any area of the behavioral and brain sciences in the United States, including self-nominations, at any career stage. The Norman Anderson Lifetime Achievement IDEA Award recognizes senior scholars.

Recipients receive a cash award of 1,000 USD, a plaque, and a short video interview featured in the FABBS newsletter and on its website. Winners are announced annually at the FABBS annual meeting in December.

Nominations close on August 14, 2026.
