Fellows-to-Faculty Award (autism, neuroscience | worldwide)

Simons Foundation

The Fellows-to-Faculty Award from the Simons Foundation supports researchers working on autism and neuroscience with their transition from mentored researcher roles to independent principal investigators. The 2026 request for applications is intended for senior postdoctoral scholars or equivalent researchers whose research contributes to:

  • Simons Foundation Autism Research Initiative (SFARI), consistent with SFARI scientific perspectives
  • Simons Collaboration on Plasticity and the Aging Brain (SCPAB), consistent with the SCPAB’s mission

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. and/or M.D., or equivalent degree. There are no citizenship requirements, and applicants may choose to work anywhere in the world.

The award provides

  • up to two (2) years of postdoctoral fellowship support during their job search, with an annual salary of $85,000 USD, fringe benefits, an annual resource and professional development allowance of $10,000 USD, $15,000 USD health insurance and other benefits allowance
  • a commitment of $600,000 USD over three (3) years, including 20% indirect costs, activated upon assumption of a tenure-track research professorship.
