Fund for Undergraduate Research Internship Programs (USA | Canada)

International Brain Research Organization (IBRO)

The Fund for Undergraduate Research Internship Programs from the International Brain Research Organization (IBRO) provides funding support for neuroscience research internship programs aimed at underrepresented minority undergraduate students from community colleges and primarily undergraduate institutions. Applications are open to established programs that offer internships to students enrolled in U.S. or Canadian community colleges or 4-year undergraduate institutions. Internships must provide students with hands-on research experience, mentorship opportunities, and skill-building workshops to prepare them for future academic and career success. Programs with demonstrated success in supporting underrepresented students in STEM, particularly neuroscience, are encouraged to apply.

The funding provides up to 25,000 USD to cover student stipends and associated program costs. Internships should last a minimum of 8 weeks.

Applications close on January 10, 2026.
