Kavli Scholars (astrophysics, nanoscience, neuroscience | worldwide)

The Kavli Foundation

The Kavli Scholars program from The Kavli Foundation supports exceptional scientists whose research has been disrupted by unexpected challenges by providing an opportunity to continue their work in the fields of astrophysics, nanoscience, neuroscience, or theoretical physics.

Scholars must be hosted by an individual or organization that is or has received funding from The Kavli Foundation and/or at a Kavli Institute. Nomination of scientists who are in the earlier stages of their professional careers (postdoc, junior faculty) is particularly encouraged. Nominations are invited by Kavli-affiliated individuals, such as members of Kavli Institutes, Kavli Prize laureates, or currently-funded grant recipients. The funding provides 100,000 USD per year for up to 2 years.

The next nomination period closes on June 15, 2026.
