The Nemko Prize in Cellular or Molecular Neuroscience from the Society for Neuroscience (SfN) with funding support from the Nemko Family, recognizes a young neuroscientist’s outstanding PhD thesis on molecular, genetic, or cellular mechanisms underlying higher brain function and cognition.

The nominee’s thesis must have been submitted between January 1 and December 31 of the preceding year. Nominees do not need to be SfN members. Self-nomination is not permitted. The Awardee receives 2,500 USD and financial support to attend the SfN annual meeting.

This is an annual award. The next nomination opens on March 23, 2026, and closes on May 7, 2026.
