The Thematic Consortia on Gambling Addiction call from ZonMw seeks to improve the prevention and treatment of gambling-related problems and harm in the Netherlands. Multidisciplinary collaboration must foster a sustainable knowledge infrastructure that connects science and practice. This call aims to support 3 consortia according to the following work packages:
- WP 1. Vulnerable players, game characteristics, playing behavior
- WP 2. Prediction, risk factors, early detection, prevention
- WP 3. Practice: Diagnostics, Intervention, Treatment.
Applications are open to multidisciplinary, thematic consortia. A consortium consists of at least the following three parties based in the Netherlands:
- Research organization
- Practice organization
- Educational institution
In addition, the involvement of experts by experience and clients (representatives) in the project group is required. The main applicant must have attended the collaborative workshop on September 23, 2025.
The funding provides up to 3 million EUR over 5 years. Co-financing is required.
