The 2026 Clinical Practitioner Research Fellowship from the Health Research Council of New Zealand supports clinicians with a proven track record of research who are currently practising and employed by a healthcare organisation to undertake a programme of research. The program promotes the growth of the clinician’s research activities, thereby benefiting healthcare in New Zealand. Applicants must be New Zealand citizens or hold New Zealand residency, be no more than 20 years out of PhD or postgraduate medical studies, must be based in New Zealand, and the programme of research and clinical care responsibilities are within New Zealand.
The fellowship provides base salary, ACC and superannuation, and $50,000 per annum for research expenses.
