The 2026 Student Teaser Fellowship from the European Academy of Neurology (EAN) provides medical students with the possibility to gain insight into neurology in general or in a specific neurological domain of interest while they are still doing their medical studies. The research work must be carried out at a European academic neurological department outside the country of residence.
All medical students who completed their first year of medical school are eligible for this programme. To identify the needs in relation to the training level, two target groups are identified:
- Medical students in the early stage of medical studies (years 2-3) with an interest in neuroscience or clinical neurology.
- Medical students in their later stage of medical studies (years 4-6) with an interest in neurology, who like to explore further specific subareas of neurology.
Applications are open to:
- EAN Student Members from EAN Member countries or Corresponding Institutional Member countries.
- Medical students who have completed at least their first year of medical school.
- Be fluent in the local language and/or in English.
The fellowship provides 1,000 EUR to support a stay of a minimum of 4 weeks in a European neurological department outside their city of residence. Each year, 15 students will be awarded.
Applications open on February 1, 2026, and close on March 31, 2026.
