2027-28 Young Clinician Investigator Award (neurosurgery | USA and Canada)

Neurosurgery Research & Education Foundation (NREF)

The 2027-28 Young Clinician Investigator Award from the Neurosurgery Research & Education Foundation (NREF) provides one-year funding in basic neuroscience and neurosurgical research, supporting junior faculty who are pursuing careers as clinical investigators.

Applicants must be neurosurgeons who are full-time faculty at teaching institutions in the USA and Canada, and no more than two years from completing their neurosurgical residency training and/or clinical fellowship. Applicants without a confirmed faculty position for the grant period are still encouraged to apply. USA citizenship is not required.

The award provides up to 50,000 USD for one year running from July 1, 2027 to June 30, 2028, covering direct costs only.
