The Barbara Wengeler Prize from the Barbara Wengeler Stiftung recognizes outstanding scholarly works by early-career researchers that explore the interactions and exchange between philosophy and neuroscience, cognitive science, and/or artificial intelligence in Germany. Submitted works must meet the following criteria:
- The work must have been accepted as a dissertation or habilitation thesis at a German-speaking university in the year 2024.
- At the time of submission, the applicant must not be older than 30 years for a dissertation or 40 years for a habilitation thesis.
- The work must demonstrate a substantial engagement with the intersection of philosophy and at least one of the specified disciplines.
The prize award is 10,000 EUR. If two works are deemed equally deserving in a given year, the prize may be shared.
