The call CCRP Initiative: NIH Countermeasures Against Chemical Threats (CounterACT) Basic Research on Chemical Threats that Affect the Nervous System (R01 Clinical Trial Not Allowed) is funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), through the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) and the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID). This call supports basic research into how chemical warfare agents and toxic industrial chemicals affect the nervous system, aiming to uncover mechanisms of toxicity and new targets for future therapeutic countermeasures.

Applications are open to USA-based higher education institutions, nonprofits, for-profit companies, and state, local, and tribal governments. Any individual with relevant expertise may serve as Principal Investigator through an eligible applicant organization.

The funding provides up to 300,000 USD per year in direct costs for project periods of up to 3 years.
