The Discovery Research Grants from the Royal National Institute for Deaf People (RNID) and Cystic Fibrosis Trust support projects that generate knowledge to underpin the discovery of treatments for hearing loss or tinnitus or improve how treatments are developed and tested. The proposed projects may be in the areas of:
- Research to provide a better understanding of the link between hearing loss and dementia, to help us find better ways to treat and prevent both conditions.
- Research that will lead to new ways to protect hearing from the ototoxic side-effects of aminoglycoside antibiotics.
Applicants may be from any university, research institute, or small/medium enterprise based anywhere in the world. The fellowship provides 75,000 GBP per year for up to 3 years.
Expressions of interest are due on September 10, 2026.
