The doctoral scholarships from the Barbara Wengeler Stiftung support qualified doctoral researchers who are pursuing or planning to pursue an ambitious interdisciplinary dissertation project in Germany. The eligibility criteria are:
- A consistently well-progressed degree in philosophy, neuroscience, or cognitive science
- Maximum age of 30 at the end of the funding period (or 33 in well-justified cases)
- An outstanding academic degree obtained no more than one year prior to application
- A scientifically ambitious dissertation project that can be completed within three years
- Admission to a doctoral program at a German university
- Submission of the dissertation at a German university
- No alternative financial support for the doctorate (e.g., employment or a doctoral scholarship from another institution)
The funding includes monthly scholarship installments of 1,700 EUR and a monthly research allowance of 100 EUR.
