FAIR Research Outputs (all disciplines | Netherlands)

Nederlandse Organisatie voor Wetenschappelijk Onderzoek (NWO)

The FAIR Research Outputs call from Open Science NL, part of Nederlandse Organisatie voor Wetenschappelijk Onderzoek (NWO), provides support to make research outputs open and FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable) in order to maximise the impact of research, with a focus on non-traditional research outputs as well as activities that demonstrably contribute to making outputs open and FAIR.

Proposals may be submitted by professionals with a paid position at Dutch universities, universities of applied sciences, university medical centres, KNAW and NWO institutes, and a number of specific research organisations.

The total grant ceiling for the call is 1,400,000 EUR, with a maximum of 50,000 EUR available per project. The budget is divided into four categories, each with a maximum of 350,000 EUR: Social Sciences and Humanities, Life Sciences and Health, Natural and Engineering Sciences, and Domain-agnostic. As of 8 October 2026, the budget for Category 2, ‘Life Sciences and Health’, has been exhausted.

Applications close on February 23, 2027, with an additional submission deadline on December 1, 2026, provided the grant ceiling has not yet been reached.
