The JPND JTC call 2025: EU Joint Programme – Neurodegenerative Disease Research is a global research funding initiative supporting neurodegenerative disease research in the EU and associated countries. JPND will be launching this joint transnational call with the aim of improving the understanding of factors that impact the quality of life of patients and their families and to develop more adequate concepts of easily accessible support for people with neurodegenerative diseases at moderate, advanced and end of life stages. Proposals to this call must be ambitious, innovative, multi-disciplinary and multi-national, i.e. include research teams from at least three different countries. They must be hypothesis driven and should have a strong focus on methodology. Proposals must focus on one or several of the following neurodegenerative diseases:
- Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias
- Parkinson’s disease and PD‐related disorders
- Prion diseases
- Motor neuron diseases
- Huntington’s disease
- Spinocerebellar ataxia (SCA)
- Spinal muscular atrophy (SMA)
Applications are open to researchers in: Canada, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Luxembourg, Norway, Poland, Slovakia, Sweden, Switzerland and Turkey. Each proposal must involve a minimum of three and a maximum of six regular partners, including the coordinator, from at least three different countries participating in this call. Applicants based in Switzerland are funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF).
Funding is available for 3 years.
