The KLI Writing-Up Resident Fellowship is offered by the Konrad Lorenz Institute (KLI) to support advanced doctoral students during the final writing-up phase of their thesis, in line with the KLI’s focus on theoretical, reflexive, and interdisciplinary work within the life and cognitive sciences, history, philosophy, and social studies.

Applications are open to advanced doctoral students who have completed their research and are in the writing-up phase of their doctoral thesis. Fellows are hosted in residence at the KLI in Klosterneuburg, Austria, with a desk in the institute’s facilities, and receive a travel allowance and library allowance in addition to their stipend.

The fellowship provides a gross stipend of 2,550 EUR per month plus travel expenses, for a duration of up to six months (not extendable).

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. The Board of Directors meets 3 to 4 times a year and applicants should allow 4 to 6 months for processing.
