Open Interval from the Simons Foundation supports trios made up of an artist, a scientist and an arts organization who explore the theme of turbulence together. The program offers funding, programming as part of a national cohort and unprescribed time for open-ended collaboration.
Applications are open to trios composed of an artist, a scientist who is expected to hold a Ph.D., and a U.S.-based arts organization. Participants do not need to be U.S. citizens but must live in the U.S. for the duration of the program. Students are not eligible.
Each participating trio receives 30,000 USD for a nine-month program running from April to December 2027.
