The Overseas Researcher Invitation Grant from the Brain Science Foundation supports Japanese host institutions in welcoming foreign brain science researchers for short visits to Japan.
Applications are submitted by the host researcher who will receive the invited foreign researcher in Japan. Proposals in which the host is a young researcher within seven years of earning a doctorate are actively supported.
The grant is paid to the host researcher who invites the visitor, and invitations must take place between April 01, 2027, and March 31, 2028.
Awards mainly cover round-trip airfare, up to 300,000 JPY per invitation, for a small number of selected proposals. Visits may last up to three months.
