The Pilot Project Grant from Parkinson Canada supports researchers pursuing novel, high-priority research in Parkinson’s disease and related disorders in Canada, with the goal of generating preliminary data that can lead to larger projects eligible for funding from major granting agencies.
Eligible projects may address biomedical, clinical, health services, or population-level research relevant to detection, treatment, understanding the underlying causes of Parkinson’s, and improving quality of life for people affected by the disease. This cycle prioritizes two community-informed themes: movement and physical symptoms, and cognition and mental health.
The funding provides up to 100,000 CAD for two years, to be used for operating costs, scientific staff, and equipment.
