Research Grant (human sciences | France)

Fondation Fyssen

The Research Grant from the Fondation Fyssen supports young researchers leading innovative projects that advance understanding of the mechanisms of behaviour and cognition in living beings, including their ontogenetic and phylogenetic development, across neuroscience, ethology, psychology, anthropology, ethnology, palaeontology, and archaeology.

The application is open to researchers of any nationality who completed their doctoral thesis between three and ten years before the funding start date (exceptions may apply for maternity, paternity, or long-term illness leave). Applicants must already be employed and will form a research team within a host structure in France whose activity aligns with the Foundation’s objectives. The project may be based in a laboratory different from where the applicant obtained their thesis or currently works.

The grant provides up to 100,000 EUR to cover equipment, consumables, salaries other than the principal investigator’s, specialized services, travel, and publication costs. The grant is awarded for a non-renewable period of 1 year. 3 to 5 projects will be awarded.

Applications open on September 1, 2026, and close on October 14, 2026.
