The Translational Clinical Research Fellowship on Substance Use Disorders is sponsored by the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) and hosted by the Columbia University Department of Psychiatry/New York State Psychiatric Institute. The program supports postdoctoral training for clinical/translational research careers in substance use disorders and is designed to build expertise ranging from human behavioral pharmacology to implementation science.
The application is open to candidates holding an MD and/or PhD with relevant research experience in psychology, neuroscience, policy, health, or a related field. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident. Individuals from communities historically underrepresented in the addiction field are especially encouraged to apply.
The fellowship runs for two to three years, with a stipend based on NIH rates according to years of relevant experience.
Applications are accepted July 1 through October 1. The next deadline is October 1, 2026.
