The Visiting Fellowships Program is offered by the Konrad Lorenz Institute for Evolution and Cognition Research (KLI) for individuals or small groups who wish to work on a project and engage with the KLI community for a short or longer period of time. Visiting fellows should work on projects related to the mission and vision of the institute, with a preference for theoretical, reflexive, and interdisciplinary projects within the life and cognitive sciences as well as history, philosophy, and social studies thereof.
There are two tracks: Senior Visiting Fellowships, open to researchers who obtained their PhD more than 8 years before the time of application, and Early Career Visiting Fellowships, open to late-stage PhD students and researchers who obtained their PhD less than 8 years before the time of application. The institute privileges applicants with strong communication and collaboration capacities who are willing to engage with resident fellows, both informally and in KLI Colloquia or the KLI Lab.
Visiting fellows do not receive a stipend from the KLI and should be supported by their own funding; the KLI offers reimbursement of travel expenses and accommodation for limited periods, for a duration of one week to up to three months.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Applicants should allow at least 4 to 6 months for processing.
