The Care Research Grant from the Alzheimer Forschung Initiative eV (AFI) supports projects that advance nursing research with the active participation of people with dementia in Germany. The aim is to support people with dementia directly after diagnosis, improving their individual quality of life or maintaining their independence. The Primary Investigator must be PhD or MD, assistant professor (or equivalent) or higher at German public universities and research institutions.
The grant provides up to 500,000 EUR over 3 years. Funding can be used for the salary of personnel, compensation of expenses of people with dementia, laboratory supply, travel costs, and others.
Applications close on February 28, 2025. The awardee must attend the award ceremony held on September 26, 2025, in Stuttgart.
