The Neurosciences and mental health: programme: responsive mode from the Medical Research Council (MRC) supports a programme of research focused on neurosciences and mental health. Research supported by this grant investigates the interactions between the nervous system and other bodily systems, encompassing the brain, mental health, and physical health, as well as how life events across the lifespan affect long-term mental and neurological health.

Applicants must be a researcher employed by a research organisation eligible to apply for Medical Research Council (MRC) funding and have a record of securing funding and delivering research. There is no limit to the funding budget, MRC funds 80% of the full economic cost for up to 5 years. Application rounds close every January, May and September.
