The 2026 Fondation de France/Jean Valade Medical Research Prize from the Fondation de France recognizes a senior researcher whose work has advanced medical discovery in France.
Applicants must be researchers of 45 years old and over who have tenured positions (DR, PU or PU-PH), attached to a team, working in a non-profit research laboratory. Applications must follow the criteria below:
- research work in the following themes:
- cancerology;
- cardiology;
- links between human health and the environment;
- neurodegenerative diseases;
- psychiatric illnesses;
- work leading to original results (fundamental research, clinical or human and social sciences);
- possible application to humans: clinical, epidemiological or improvement of practices.
The Prize is 100,000 EUR. The winner may use at least 15% of the amount for personal use, and 85% of the amount will be dedicated to continuing the research work of his or her team.
Applications are due on August 27, 2025.
