The Rainwater Prize from the Rainwater Charitable Foundation (RCF) recognizes excellence in neuroscience research. The program seeks to:
- Increase awareness of critical gaps in neurodegenerative research
- Attract and retain researchers to work on tauopathies
- Award scientific achievements that lead to new treatments for patients.
The Prize has four categories, including:
- Outstanding Innovation in Neurodegenerative Research (400,000 USD)
- Innovative Early-Career Scientists (200,000 USD)
- Milestone Prize for Advances in Tauopathy Research (up to 2 million USD)
- Breakthrough Prize for Effective Treatments in PSP (up to 10 million USD)
