Tari Tan is lecturer in neurobiology and assistant dean for educational scholarship and innovation at Harvard Medical School. She leads a team that works to creatively and sustainably support curricular and instructional innovation across the full portfolio of Harvard Medical School’s biomedical master’s and Ph.D. programs. Tan is actively engaged in neuroscience education at the undergraduate, post-baccalaureate, and graduate level. Her educational scholarship interests include teaching and learning with generative artificial intelligence; metacognition; and inclusive teaching practices that support the success of all trainees.

Tan earned her Ph.D. in neurobiology at Harvard University. She completed an education-focused postdoctoral position as the curriculum fellow for the Harvard Ph.D. Program in Neuroscience, later serving as director of education and then associate director of the program before beginning her current role in graduate education.
